Content: More Than He Bargained For

Authors note: Unfortunately it would seem that pasting this from my phone did not transfer bold and italics. Hopefully the formatting didn’t also get messed up.

This is my first time writing any sort of fiction. Enjoy.

Chapter 1

“Come on hun, we're gonna be late. Did you pack everything you’ll need for the whole week?” said Gabriel’s mother, Rose McInnis.

“Almost ready, I just have to grab Ryu!” said Gabriel. Ryu was Gabriel's favorite stuffed animal, a red and blue dragon. “Alright, I’m ready”

“It’s gonna be a whole week, are you sure you have everything? Extra clothes, tooth brush, Ryu and your Goodnites? said Rose.

Gabriel blushed “Yea I have them too” Gabriel was 12, but still wet the bed. He’s embarrassed about having to wear Goodnites, a pull-up because of it.

“Good, come on kiddo, put everything in the car and I’ll drop you off at Jack’s.” said Rose.

Rose had to take a business flight for work and didn’t want to take Gabriel along for the business trip. She also didn't want to leave him home alone all week. So she arranged with Amy Madsen, Jack’s mother, for Gabriel to stay over the week. Jack and Gabriels were best friends but this would be their first sleepover together.

As they both got into the car. “Why can’t I come with you?” said Gabriel.

“Trust me you don’t want to have to sit on a long flight to only then go to work. Trust me, If I could trade places with you I sure would. I know you’re a little nervous, but don’t worry about it, okay. You’re gonna have fun.” Said Rose.

After a short 10 minute drive from Gabriel’s house to Jack’s, they arrived. “Love ya hun, I’ll be back next Sunday, okay?” said Rose.

“Okay, love you, bye!” said Gabriel. Gabriel got out of the car and gave a quick wave before walking up to the front door of Jack’s house. He pressed the doorbell and a short moment later, Amy opened the door.

“Hello Gabe! Come on in, we were just starting to make dinner. Jack’s upstairs in his room, just go on up ahead, it’s up the stairs and the last door at the end of the hall, to the left. I’ll call you both when dinner’s ready.” Mrs. Madsen explained.
“Thank you, Mrs Madsen!” said Gabriel as he scurried up the stairs. Jack hurried up the staircase and went down the hallway to head to Jack’s room. The hallway was more akin to a balcony than a hallway because one side was open with a railing, overlooking the parlor. As Gabriel walked down the hallway, he noticed there were three doors. Two doors on the left, first of which was open, the bathroom and the second door was closed. Behind him, in the hallway to the right of the staircase there were two doors, presumably one of which was Mrs. Madsen’s room. Gabriel walked into the open doorway of Jack’s room.

“Hey!” exclaimed Gabreil.

“Oh hey you’re finally here! Mom’s almost finished dinner, she’s making pizza for us. Said Jack.

“Awesome! I can’t wait, this week is gonna be so fun! I brought my Nintendo Switch, PS5 controller, and some movies. We should definitely watch a movie later. Said Gabriel as he put his bag on the floor and sat down on a bean bag chair.

“Yea definitely! I know my mom plans on bringing us to the mall tomorrow, she has to pick up a few things, so we’ll get to check out some stores and the arcade! Said Jack.

“Oh cool I love that place! So, what should we do while we wait for dinner?” said Gabriel.

“Wanna play some smash? I’m sure you’ll win this time.” Jack said sarcastically.

“Oh you’re so on!” said Gabriel.

Chapter 2

“Kid’s dinner’s ready” shouted Mrs. Madsen

Jack and Gabriel quickly came down stairs for dinner. Mrs. Madsen had made two cheese and pepperoni pizzas for dinner.

“Why don’t you kids take some pizza and soda and pick out a movie.” Said Mrs. Madsen Both Jack and Gabriel took some pizza and headed over to the living room.

“We have some movies in here too, as well as any that you’ve brought. What do you wanna watch?” said Jack as Gabriel looked through the small cabinet of DvDs.

“Oh how about Batman Begins?” said Gabriel.

“I love Batman, let’s watch that one!” said Jack.

Jack and Gabriel both sat down on the couch, with their pizzas and soda to watch the movie. By the time the movie was over it was already 10:30pm.

“I don’t know about you but I’m pretty tired, we should probably get to bed.” Said Jack
They both got up and started to clean up as Mrs. Madsen walked into the parlor.

“You kids finish your movie? Don;t worry about cleaning up, I’ll take care of it. Jack, go wait for me upstairs hun, I’ll be up in a minute. Gabe, I have an air mattress for you already set up in Jacks room, why don’t you go get ready for bed.” said Mrs. Madsen.

Jack and Gabriel both headed upstairs, and went into Jack’s room. There was an air mattress with sheets already set up on the floor next to Jack’s bed. Gabriel, picked up his bag.

“I’m gonna go change in the bathroom and then I’ll be right back.” Gabriel said as he walked out of the room and headed to the bathroom. He shut the door and opened his bag. Gabriel was still nervous because Jack didn’t know that he wore a diaper to bed, and he didn’t want him to find out. He quickly changed into his Goodnite and pajamas. After he finished changing we went back to Jack’s room, but Jack wasn’t there. Gabriel put his bag by the air mattress and sat down on the mattress. As he did so he could’ve sworn he heard a crinkle sound that sounded very similar to the water proof mattress cover on his own bed at home. Before he could think too much about it, the door that had been previously close, next to Jack’s room had opened and both Jack and Mrs. Madsen walked out. Jack had changed into his pajamas as well.

“Alright you two, don’t stay up too late. I want to leave a little early tomorrow morning okay?” said Mrs. Madsen as she closed the door to the other room and then closed Jack’s door.

“What were you guys doing in there?” asked Gabriel.

“Oh I was just changing into my pajamas.” Said Jack as he sat down on his bed. As Jack sat down on his bed, Gabriel again thought he could hear a very faintly audible crinkle. Gabriel paused for a moment to think about it but didn’t want to say anything in case he was wrong. He grabbed Ryu out of his bag, yawning as he did.

“You still sleep with a stuffed animal?” said Jack.

“Y-yea so? You have stuffed animals on your bed too ya know?” Gabriel said as he felt embarrassed.

“Yea I know I’m just kidding with you!” Jack said as he got up and turned off the lights. After Jack had turned off the lights, Gabriel realized that both of their blankets were glowing with glow in the dark stars and a light sensitive night light turned on.

“Are you afraid of the dark?” said Gabriel jokingly.

“N-no I just like the glow in the dark stars.” Jack Flusterdley said.

“It’s okay I have a night light in my room.” Said Gabriel.

They both crawled into their beds to go to sleep. Jack had quickly fallen asleep. Gabriel however, was still a little awake, trying to get comfortable in this new environment. He was thinking about all the fun they’d have this week and wondering what was in the other room Jack came out of earlier. Gabriel had eventually fallen asleep.

Chapter 3

The next morning, Jack and Gabriel awoke to Mrs. Madsen knocking on and opening the door.

“Rise and shine boys. I’m making pancakes for breakfast!” Mrs. Madsen said. Jack and Gabriel both got up. As Gabriel got up he froze when he realized that he had an accident last night. Thankfully he didn’t leak and wet the bed.

“Come on before they get cold. You can bring your friend with you too.” Mrs. Madsen said playfully as he ushered the boys downstairs. Gabriel carried Ryu with him downstairs, lured by the smell of pancakes! He could change out of his pull-up after breakfast. As Jack and Gabriel sat down at the table, Mrs. Madsen gave them both plates and a stack of pancakes on each.

“You two go ahead and eat, I'll be right back.” Mrs. Madsen said as she returned upstairs.

They both began to eat breakfast and talked for a little about what they planned on doing at the mall. As they talked Gabriel realized he had a strong urge to use the bathroom and excused himself from the table to head upstairs, leaving Ryu in his seat. As Gabriel turned to the bathroom door, it was locked. Mrs. Madsen was inside taking a shower. Now with the urge to pee even stronger, Gabriel tried knocking on the door but it was no use. Mrs. Madsen couldn’t hear him knocking.

“Oh why does she have to be in there now! I can’t hold it, I'm gonna have another accident. Maybe I can...” Gabriel thought to himself before being interrupted by the sensation of him wetting himself. As Gabriel quickly realized that he was having an accident he froze as he noticed a puddle was forming on the floor where he stood. His Goodnite had leaked and Gabriel wet his pants. Not knowing what to do he simply stood there and before long Mrs. Madsen came out of the bathroom.

“Oh! Oh dear, Gabe, are you okay?” Mrs. Madsen asked.

“I-I tried to knock” Gabriel said sobbingly.

“It’s okay, I’m sorry I couldn’t hear you. Don’t worry about it, these things can happen, okay? I want you to wait right here, okay?” said Mrs. Madsen.

Mrs. Madsen had gone down stairs and returned with Jack, Ryu and a towel. Gabriel was red in the face and on the verge of tears when Jack saw him standing there with wet pants. Mrs. Madsen had put the towel down on the puddle on the floor.

“Alright you two come with me.” Mrs. Madsen said as she guided the two boys to the door next to Jack’s room. Mrs. Madsen opened the door and ushered the two boys inside. Gabriel couldn’t believe his eyes.

“Alright you first Jack.” Mrs Madsen said. Jack walked over to the changing table, climbed on top and layed down.

“Does he have to watch? It’s embarrassing!” Jack said.

“I don’t think he’ll mind.” Said Mrs. Madsen reassuringly.

Mrs. Madsen had begun to take off Jack’s pajamas to expose a tabbed diaper, unlike Gabriel’s pull-up.

“You wet the bed too?” asked Gabriel.

“Y-yea don’t tell anyone okay?” exclaimed Jack.

Mrs. Madsen begane to change Jack, as to Gabriel’s surprise, she wasn’t simply taking it off. Mrs. Madsen pulled out another diaper and baby powder and begane to powder and change Jack into a new diaper. After Mrs. Madsen was finished, she helped Jack off of the changing table.

“Go get changed” Mrs. Madsen said to Jack.

“Why are you still wearing a diaper?” asked Gabriel accusingly.

“I have accidents during the day too.” Said Jack.

“Alright, your turn Gabe.” Mrs. Madsen said.

Hesitantly, Gabriel lowered his head, trying to hold back his tears as he walked over to the changing table and climbed up. Mrs. Madsen handed him Ryu and took off his soiled clothes and Goodnite.

“Your mom told me you wet the bed, hun. It’s okay, there’s nothing to be ashamed about. I know you don’t typically wear a diaper, especially during the day but after this morning I think you should at least wear one for today when we go to the mall. Having an accident at the mall would be even more embarrassing, okay? explained Mrs. Madsen

“Do I have to?” asked Gabriel

“No, you don't. I can always bring an extra pair of pants if you’d prefer? asked Mrs. Madsen

Gabriel thought about it, worrying about having another accident if he got too distracted while at the mall or if the bathroom wasn’t available. He really didn't want to have an accident again, especially in public. He reluctantly agreed to wear a diaper for the day. Mrs. Madsen diapered and powdered Gabriel. After she finished she helped him down off of the changing table.

“Alright I want you to go get changed and get ready to leave for the mall soon.” Mrs. Madsen said.

Content: One main criticism is constantly have dialogue as Jack said or Gabriel said but I’m not sure how else to denote dialogue.
