Content: HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH DIAPERS, as an after thought I wanted to put this disclaimer first
just a short story I wrote on my lunch break, one of the few things I wrote that doesn't break your rules, like I said has nothing to do with diapers but to short to post other places hope you enjoy and to hear your feed back
A browned leaf clinging to a tree is whisked off its barren perch by an immense gust. Tumbling steam over leaf past its comrades, down the embankment and into the chilly stream below. The leaf travels the stream skittering from branch to twig as a fallen tree lashes out embracing the the foliage. It's stuck- stuck between the grasp of decaying finality and the pull of freedom. The leaf wretches and struggles with the sway as if with every dip and pull the tree is mocking it's insignificance. Literally tearing itself free losing a piece in the process. Bouncing between protruding stones twirling in circles mourning the loss vowing to continue til journeys end.
Ahead a bridge can be seen, no details just a red box floating above the small river. as our hero approaches tiny faces can be, giggling of children can be herd. passing below the bridge spittle lands in front, to the side and finally the disgusting viscous fluid plunging through and forcing it beneath the surface only to arise on the other side.
Chipped and with a void the leaf meanders down the ever widening river leaving behind a fleck every now and then pondering the sight of its relatives in a plethora of hues. Brought out of contemplation by the roar and force of a wall of brown rapidly approaching. Pining off the sides of the steal and then sucked under bobbing up banging off the rusted bottom, being forced ever closer to the unknown tumultuous waters at the stern. Draged through the whir of steal and water leaf is ripped in twain. rapidly decaying, knowing the truth, being little more than a stem, with one final jerk of the current the leaf disintegrates leaving the stalk to rest on the river bed.
