Content: In a small town of Crestwood was were it appeared to start.
One day the Mayor called out sick for what he thought was a cold, but then people didn't see him for over a week. During that week the Mayoral staff, several doctors, and school officials all one-by-one got really sick and took major time to stay home in an attempt to get better.
Everyone thought it was just a rather strong flu, except Darren. Darren Miller, was a local journalist that hid in his office, when he didn't have a particularly large scoop. He had actually noticed that some of the previously sick had actually been spotted going into the pharmacy or grocery store, and then leaving with large carts filled with boxes and boxes. Sometimes their spouse or a policeman would try to get their attention and usher them home.
Wednesday, three days since the Mayor first went home, over three-fourths of the town had called in sick and things were slowing down to a hault. That is when Darren, through his office window, saw the strangest thing. The Police Captain was walking through town with only a tshirt and baby print diaper, while sucking on a bottle.
There were very few people actually left roaming around town, so no one had pointed out the strange spectacle very quickly. Eventually one of the local bakers ran out of her shop to confront the Captain about his strange display. While she was talking to him, he looked very concerned at her, and then eventually she was able to take his hand and walk him down the road. He thought it was quick funny and called his girlfriend to tell her what he just saw.
The phone rang and Emily answered. "He sweetie, you'll never guess the funniest thing just happened." he began. But was cut off when she said, "I'm sorry Darren I seem to got the same ting that dats been going around. I can't focus on your story, I tink I need lay down and take nap. Can we tawk when I's better?"
Darren ended the call very depressed for Emily. She sounded so sick that she was slurring her words. So he left her to sleep it off and tried ot get back to other things.
It wasn't until the next day that Darren saw the truth of the virus. He was again trying to people watch out of his office window, but for a long time no one was outside. That was until he saw a group of people almost chasing someone. When they were coming closer he recognized the cafe cook brisking almost running away from the police captain, school principal and baker. The weird part was that the captain was in another diaper and so were the other two. "Why in the world would the baker being wearing a diaper after the confrontation yesterday?" After a brief period the three caught up with the cook and then he began walking with them to the pharmacy almost dazed.
He saw a lot more people as the day progressed, all of them wearing Rearz and other types of ABDL diapers. He began to panic or worry, "Is this some weird joke? Why is everyone so willing to act this way?"
Then he saw his girlfriend walking to the store. He couldn't help but follow her to see what she was up to. She walked straight to the babyish looking adult diapers and loaded up the cart, then walked down the baby aisle grabbing a pacifier and some other items.
Darren froze in horror when the pieces came together. He realized the disease was affecting people's brains, they were acting fairly normal, but with a base infantile urge now part of them. The disease was also apparently much faster spreading, because that was why Emily was here in the store the next morning.
As Darren watched Emily gather stuffed animals and bottles, he jumped when someone started him from behind, "Hey, Darren, what are you doing here?" Darren turned around to answer the familiar voice of the produce manager, until he was shocked to see her in a diaper and onesie.
"Why aren't you wearing a diapey? It isn't good for you to be without a diapey." She exclaimed.
That freaked him out enough... against his better judgement he ran over to confront Emily and try to get through to her, without thinking things through.
Darren, finally drew near and tried to reason with her. “Emily, what are you doing? This isn’t like you.”
Emily began answering cheerfully, "What you mean? I just getting my didi? Her words a bit childish and muffled from the pacifier in her mouth.
She surveyed Darren in concern. "Why you not wearing didi?"
Darren grabbed her by the shoulders like he was plannning to shake her back to reality. "Emily don't you see what is happening? This isn't ----"
"Acho" before he could finish what he was saying, Emily sneezed. The sneeze, intense and unexpected sprayed Darren with a thin mist.
He recoiled in digust and froze for a minute, not realizing what happened until. He began to start back into Emily, "you don't understand what is happening." then a chill permeated his body, and he stopped talking. Suddenly wave of warmth and comfort flooded over him, washing away the chill, but then the warm feeling landed in his pants.
Darren was wetting himself, while Emily looked on.
"I can't believe this is happening," Darren exclaimed as he felt so weird, "I tink I need a DIAPER"
That was the last thing he said before the virus fully and quickly set in.

The next evening Darren and Emily we're seated on the patio of the diner having a wonderful dinner together. They chatted and enjoyed the evening while watching the town. It seemed like the most wonderful date they had been on in weeks.
Everything seemed completely normal except that they were both only wearing pastel tshirts and Rearz diapers. Emily had a large diaper bag as her purse, and Darren had his diner beverage in a large baby bottle.
The town had been overtaken.
Darren and Emily looked out at the town like nothing had really happened. People were living out their lives completely unaware that it wasn't normal to wear such infantile garments and desiring babyish pacification.
Ocassionally, someone ventured out from their residence trying to figure out the epidemic that had arisen, but they were quickly identified by others. “Oh hey, little guy! You need to come here and get on a didi before you have an accident!” Or someone might say, “Your wife called and wants you to get home so she can get you into a comfortable diapey.”
But it soon came to the same end.
The residents of Crestwood were so happy thinking their ABDL lives were so wonderful and normal. They had no idea that the virus was still spreading out into the rest of the country and within about a month everyone in the continental USA would be NEEDING A DIAPER.
